The assortment of sports nutrition stores largely depends on the owner. Some put out only well-known brands, while others find good products among little-known brands. But all the goods need to be tasted, so that you can tell the customers afterwards.

From experience, the store should have everything: for example, in our chain, which consists of three stores, there are two thousand items. Here is a list of items that are a must:

Protein – suitable for those who lose weight, for those who gain weight and just for people who want to eat more protein;
Gainers or carbohydrate-protein mixtures – for people who want to gain weight;
Carnitine and fat burners for those who want to lose weight;
vitamins – for everyone.

In the last few years, there has been a growing demand for the supplements: vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, collagen, melatonin, gamma-aminobutyric acid. They are not available in all stores, but if you want to keep up with trends, you need to sell different positions.

Many stores tend to sign a contract with a particular brand, to represent it and so make more money. There is also another scheme: when suppliers offer the best conditions for certain brands, so there will be more of these goods in the store. With the big chains it can be intrusive, but that’s how they make money.

The assortment of a sports nutrition store should be diverse. If a store only has five or ten product categories, it is likely to go bankrupt.
A sports nutrition store does not have to sell everything on the shelves: you can keep popular items in retail and the rest in the online store. If the customer asks, offer to order online with delivery or self-delivery from the store.

There are very few fakes in retail sports nutrition stores because fakes are always noticeable. No normal store will mess with such a product, although from time to time some people call and offer a product at a suspiciously low price.

The low price is the main indicator that the product in front of you is a fake.

But it is difficult and not very profitable to counterfeit sport nutrition, because it is not a mass product. Also you need to look at the store itself: if it is a small store in a basement, which operates on boxes, it is hardly worth buying there.
