    THE "FOUR" POINTS

by Kevin Webber - Co-Founder & Former Sports Nutritionist

    1. Balanced Macro-nutrient Ratios

Whole foods are what the body prefers and that’s when it performs at it’s best! Our carefully selected ingredients create an ideal blend of macro-nutrients (Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fats) that provide your body with optimized energy.

In order to optimize energy production and utilization conducive to top levels of training and performance, proper nutrition is essential.  Most people who eat on the go, have one major dietary problem: insufficient protein, carbohydrate, and fat intake to support fitness goals.  This is called macronutrient deficiency. Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are the three macronutrients required by the body.

Carbohydrates get a bad rap these days but they are an essential part of your diet. 50%-75% of your daily calories should come from carbohydrates.  They replace muscle glycogen (stored carbohydrates) and are the main source for immediate energy.  However, choosing the right carbohydrates are important. In addition to choosing the right carbohydrates, it is recommended that we consume 25-30 grams of fiber per day.

Proteins, and more importantly amino acids, are the building blocks of life.  They repair cells as they breakdown during activity, promote faster recovery, lowers risk of injury, and stave off feelings of lethargy.  Fourpoints® bar derives protein from five sources, the main being raw whey protein isolate.  Whey protein isolate is the highest known biological source of protein, meaning better and quicker protein absorption.

Fats are also important. When carbohydrate stores run low, fats kick in as a secondary source of energy. Fats boost the immune system and lowers risk of injury. The fats in Fourpoints® bar are monounsaturated and full of heart healthy omega fatty acids.

    2. Low-Moderate Glycemic Load

Fourpoints® bars not only give you energy, they help maintain it! The natural sugars in our ingredients are balanced by the high fiber, fat and protein content in the bar. This allows the low to moderate glycemic sugars to be absorbed gradually, giving you longer lasting energy for a slow burn.  No spikes or crashes!

All of the ingredients in Fourpoints® bar have a low-moderate glycemic index and have an low-moderate glycemic load.  The glycemic load is important, especially in a society where blood sugar disorders such as diabetes are on the rise, because it refers to the amount of glucose (sugar) that is released in the body at a given time. The sugars in Fourpoints® bar are balanced by the high fiber, fat, and protein content of the bar.  This allows the low-moderate glycemic sugars to be absorbed more slowly.

    3. Rich in Antioxidants

Our bars are packed full of super foods to increase your body’s antioxidant intake which ultimately helps strengthen your immune system while fighting free radical cell damage.

The unsung hero in Fourpoints® bar is that all of the ingredients are high in antioxidants, which are necessary to combat free radical damage.  Free radicals are in everything the body ingests; air, water, foods, etc…They are also an unfortunate by-product of exercise.  They wreak havoc on our bodies.  They cause damage to cellular DNA, cause mutations, which can result in formation of cancerous cells.  The need for antioxidants couldn’t be any greater.  All of the foods in the Fourpoints® bar were specifically chosen for their high antioxidant protection.  They are in essence, super foods.  Super foods literally boost your health with every serving.  Below are just some of the benefits of the super foods that make up Fourpoints® bar.

    4. Natural Raw Ingredients

We use high quality ingredients to make Fourpoints® bars, and that’s what makes them so great.  Our bars are cold-processed and contain ingredients like plums, figs, 90% Whey Protein Isolate and hemp seeds, just to name a few.  You don’t typically see these ingredients used together in other bars...until now!
