    In order to optimize energy production and utilization conducive to top levels of training and performance, proper nutrition is essential.  Most people who eat on the go, have one major dietary problem: insufficient protein, carbohydrate, and fat intake to support fitness goals.  This is called macronutrient deficiency. Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are the three macronutrients required by the body.

    Carbohydrates get a bad rap these days but they are an essential part of your diet. 50%-75% of your daily calories should come from carbohydrates.  They replace muscle glycogen (stored carbohydrates) and are the main source for immediate energy.  However, choosing the right carbohydrates are important. In addition to choosing the right carbohydrates, it is recommended that we consume 25-30 grams of fiber per day.

    Proteins, and more importantly amino acids, are the building blocks of life.  They repair cells as they breakdown during activity, promote faster recovery, lowers risk of injury, and stave off feelings of lethargy.  Fourpoints® bar derives protein from five sources, the main being raw whey protein isolate.  Whey protein isolate is the highest known biological source of protein, meaning better and quicker protein absorption.

    Fats are also important. When carbohydrate stores run low, fats kick in as a secondary source of energy. Fats boost the immune system and lowers risk of injury. The fats in Fourpoints® bar are monounsaturated and full of heart healthy omega fatty acids.

We blend low glycemic dried plums and medium glycemic dried figs as the primary source of carbohydrates.  The combination of these fiber rich super-fruits, along with heart healthy fats and 10+ grams of protein, work together to provide slow burning energy, without the sugar spikes and crashes.
